How we make money

HomeSmartOffice publishes editorial guides. We do not sell products to visitors ourselves. Some links on the site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you click a link and buy from an external retailer. That commission does not add any extra cost for you.

What are affiliate links?

Affiliate links are URLs that can record a referral from our website to a retailer. If you follow one and make a purchase, we may earn a small part of that sale. This is a common way to fund editorial sites. It does not increase the price you pay.

Our editorial independence

Recommendations and reviews are based on editorial research and published specifications. We do not accept payment from brands to feature or positively review their products. If a product is not good enough to recommend on the evidence we have, we do not include it because of commission potential.

Most current guides are editorial research, not a hands-on testing programme. When we have used a product ourselves, we will say so in that article.

Our editorial guidelines are:

• We recommend products only when they earn their place.
• Affiliate relationships never influence product rankings or recommendations.
• We mark articles that contain affiliate links with a disclosure notice at the top of the page.
• We disclose when we have received a product for free.
